Every year, Fromagerie Bergeron participates in the Sélection Caseus competition to present its best selection of cheeses.
On September 6, we were delighted to learn that three of our cheeses had won the competition. The excitement was even greater when we learned that our Louis Cyr 2 Years was named the second-best cheese in Quebec.
LE LOUIS CYR 2 YEARS — Winner in the Interior-Ripened Cheese Without Ripening Holes category and the Caseus Argent award winner.
Our champion, Le Louis Cyr 2 years, once again wowed the judges with its burnt caramel and walnut notes. These two new awards for the Louis Cyr 2 Year bring 11 Caseus prizes to the Louis Cyr family.
LE SEIGNEUR DE TILLY 18 MONTHS — Winner in the Reduced Fat Cheese category.
With 50% less fat than our Classique, this 18-month aged cheese stood out for its delicious fruit notes and slightly crumbly texture for the second year in a row.
LE CLASSIQUE SMOKED — Winner in the Flavoured by Smoking, Maceration or Addition of Flavouring Substances category.
Naturally cold-smoked with specially selected wood essences, our Classique Smoked continues to delight the palate with its perfectly balanced roasted flavour. This latest award makes seven wins in this category—something to be extremely proud of!
With these four new awards, the quality of our cheeses on the Quebec market is further enhanced.
