In 2007, French cheesemaker Groupe Bel decided to transfer production of its The Laughing Cow® cheese to Canada, where it had been imported since 1956.
Since 2007, Fromagerie Bergeron has produced The Laughing Cow® under contract for the entire Canadian market at its Saint-Nicolas facility. The partnership has been a resounding success, with production quadrupling over the first 10 years. To meet increasing demand, close to 1.4 billion little triangles were produced over 10 years using 100% Canadian cheeses.
