Poutine Clean-Out-Your-Fridge

Need more dinner ideas? Heading out of town soon and don’t want leftovers in the fridge? While we’ve suggested a few ingredients to add, this poutine can easily be adapted to your tastes and desires. The one element not to be overlooked is our popular Le Louis Cyr, which will make you forget that this poutine is just a trick to empty your fridge!

Ingredients

Potatoes of your choice

Olive or vegetable oil

Our champion cheese, Le Louis Cyr

Italian sausages or other cooked meat from the fridge

Red onion

Yellow bell pepper

BBQ sauce

Salt and pepper

Toppings

Chopped parsley

Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 425 °F (220 °C).

  2. Meanwhile, cut the potatoes into sticks and brush them with a little olive or vegetable oil—season and place on a baking sheet. Bake for about 25 minutes or until golden brown. Turn halfway through cooking.

  3. While the fries are cooking, slice the sausages, red onion, and yellow bell pepper.

  4. In a skillet, cook the sausage slices in a drizzle of oil for about five (5) minutes. Add the onion and yellow pepper strips and cook for another five (5) minutes. Set aside.

  5. Prepare BBQ sauce in a saucepan.

  6. Grate the Le Louis Cyr and set aside.

  7. When the fries are cooked, assemble the poutines by placing the sausage, vegetables, Le Louis Cyr cheese and sauce in bowls. Sprinkle with fresh parsley.
