Founded over 35 years ago in Saint-Antoine-de-Tilly, Fromagerie Bergeron is a Canadian leader in Gouda-style cheeses. The Bergeron family proudly carries on its cheesemaking tradition by crafting bold, lactose-free cheeses like Louis Cyr, Classique Fumé, and Fin Renard. With more than 110 awards to its name, the company’s 350 employees produce over 20 varieties of aged and fresh cheeses enjoyed across Canada.

Acquired by Groupe Bergeron in 2020, Nordfroid operates a refrigerated warehouse in Saint-Nicolas. The site also houses the sales and marketing offices of Fromagerie Bergeron.

Since 2007, La Maison d’affinage Bergeron has helped diversify Groupe Bergeron’s activities through a partnership with Fromagerie Bel, a leading European cheese company. Its Saint-Nicolas factory, with 60 employees, produces The Laughing Cow for the Canadian market. This collaboration has strengthened Groupe Bergeron’s position in the Canadian cheese industry.
