Fromagerie Bergeron is pleased to announce that its newest product has distinguished itself at the 17th edition of the Sélection Caseus Awards. In fact, our Louis Cyr won the Caseus Silver Award as one of the top three cheeses chosen from among all category winners. The 2015 edition of the contest saw over 192 cheeses compete. Prizes were awarded on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Quebec City’s Musée national des beaux-arts. For years the Bergeron team focused its efforts on perfecting a strong Gouda. After plenty of trial and error and a lot of hard work finally they had it. Our master cheesemakers invested a lot of time and effort in creating a strong Gouda of exceptionally high quality. Through regular taste testing and continuous follow-up we took our Louis Cyr to a higher level. The cheesemaker went as far as shortlisting farms to control which milk was used in making the product. Criteria governing the choice of raw materials were established to ensure consistent quality. After all these efforts, Bergeron finally succeeded in its bid and a new champion was added to the Bergeron lineage of fine cheeses.
